Breakout Session on Copyright at Tech Policy Summit '08

Last week at the Tech Policy Summit, one of the more interesting panels was "Copyright In A Converged World". Sitting on the panel Patrick Ross, the Executive Director of the Copyright Alliance; Fred von Lohmann, Senior Staff Attorney of the Electronic Frontier Foundation; Matt Zinn, Vice President and general counsel of TiVo; and moderator Doug Lichtman of UCLA Law School.

Denice Howell of ZDNet covered it with a fair and in-depth reporting of what went on in the room in her blog Lawgarithms in a post entitled "Sparks fly over copyright at Tech Policy Summit".

I, on the other hand, microblogged it on Twitter. In less than 140 characters I quoted Fred von Lohmann in what had to be, IMHO, the most pithy statement said on the panel: "The legal system has to let dinosaurs die!"
